Imagination guides the way
REBECCA SCHESTAK
Artist and Storyteller

Rebecca Schestak
is an emerging artist currently working in the heart of the European Alps. Approaching her twenties, she considers herself to be but at the beginning of a long artistic journey. After growing up with the influence of her great-grandfather Will Schestak, a German painter; and after half a decade of creative exploration she has now decided to follow her own way as an artist.
Her Artwork
is always created around a story. Rebecca considers the narrative as a beating heart which allows her artwork to live, change and carry its message throughout space and time. It reaches out to the observer and invites them to reflect on their own unique stories. Although most of the tales behind her artwork remain deliberately untold, their meaning still resounds within every detail.
Rebecca’s approach is further supported by her vision of working across various mediums, such as painting, drawing, photography, animation and writing, seeing them as contributions to the big picture while still respecting them as unique ways of art.
During her creative process she draws inspiration from mythological and fantastical storytelling as well as real-world locations barely touched by human influence. Nevertheless, she values own imagination and creativity above all other sources of inspiration.
